JOB SUMMARY
The Driller operates and monitors all drilling systems and equipment, supervises all drill crew work activities, and manages appropriate drilling documentation for the process of drilling oil and gas wells from an offshore drilling unit to the satisfaction of the client, Company management, and within compliance of applicable regulations.
Other Job Functions
1. The Driller is required to complete and submit the requisite reports as directed.
2. Participates and/or conducts the following activities:
a. Safety meetings
b. Training sessions
c. Outside schools
d. Safety drills and inspections
3. Must have basic knowledge of various functions of the other rig departments for safe and efficient interface of job duties.
4. Practices safety at all times while on Company property.
5. Must represent the Company in a professional manner both on and off the job to include confidentiality of Company and client business.
6. Performs all other duties and functions as directed by the supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
- The Driller shall be trained as Driller and have at least 4 years' experience operating on mobile offshore drilling units. Before entering this position it must be documented that the person has experience from all parts of the drilling operation.
- Must have experience on board a semi-sub or drill ship.
- He shall have a valid Offshore Survival (including HUET) & Well Control (IWCF) Supervisor Level certificate.
- He must have good knowledge of the English language, both oral and
written.
